Include your iPhone model and software version, plus the kind of screen and browser you are trying to use.
Email FrameNook supportWhat you need
- An iPhone running iOS 17 or later for the FrameNook app
- Both devices on the same local Wi-Fi network during the initial download
- A compatible browser on the old iPad, TV, tablet, phone, or computer you want to use as a display
Opening your first screen
- Add one or more photos or videos in Library.
- Open Screens.
- On another device connected to the same Wi-Fi, scan the QR code or type the address FrameNook shows.
- Keep FrameNook open while that browser downloads its local copy of the show.
After the initial download finishes, FrameNook does not need to stay open. The display continues from the copy stored in its browser.
Common questions
The browser cannot open the address.
Keep FrameNook open and make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi. On the iPhone, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and make sure FrameNook is allowed.
The screen stopped receiving changes.
FrameNook needs to remain open while a browser downloads new media or settings. Reopen the app, then refresh the display. After a compatible browser finishes saving its copy, it can keep playing without the iPhone.
A photo from iCloud will not import.
Open Photos and make sure the original can finish downloading, then try adding it again. FrameNook asks Apple’s Photos framework for the item you selected.
Why is the weather missing?
Turn Weather on in Settings and choose a town or city. FrameNook uses Apple Maps to find the place and Apple Weather for the forecast. The display includes Apple’s required attribution.
How do I remove my media?
Delete items from the FrameNook Library. This removes FrameNook’s local copies; it does not delete originals from Photos or Files.
Does FrameNook upload my photos?
No. Media is stored on your device and, when you open a screen, transferred over your local network to that browser. See the privacy policy for details.
